I'm currently based in Hastings and split my time between working with children, studying Play Therapy and making art, mostly painting. Within my work I focus on catching fleeting moments, colours and snippets of nearly forgotten memories. Neuroscience, and specifically the cognitive function of human memory, has been a focus of my work for a number of years. I currently work with paint, typically watercolours. I feel they catch the inability to have full control of how we remember memories. The water makes up a lot of the decision making which reflects how little we control we have in controlling how we re-remember our past. I also work with oils, as I feel their tactile, thick nature gives a feel of realness to painting. The subjects in the paintings are strangers, people I notice how the mass of faces on my commute. Each person in their own world.
